Simple, encrypted collaborative planning that works right in your group chats.
WhatPlan is a collaborative planning tool built for groups who need to organise things quickly — holiday plans, events, projects, shopping lists, or anything that needs input from multiple people.
Instead of installing an app or creating accounts, you simply share a link. Everyone with the link can view and edit the document in real time, directly in their browser.
Create a document, get a short permanent URL, and drop it into any group chat.
Your content is encrypted in your browser. The server only stores data it can't read.
Changes sync automatically. Everyone sees the latest version when they open the link.
Free-form notes with markdown formatting, plus a structured task list with photos and annotations.
Every WhatPlan document is end-to-end encrypted and shared with a single link. You just pick the shape that fits what you're organising:
For trips, events, and projects. Start with a free-form description, then add a task checklist — with photos, comments, and assignments — and a timeline of events you can save to your calendar. Perfect for coordinating a one-off with other people.
For the everyday running of a household. Recurring routines — water the plants weekly, change the filter monthly — stay tucked away until they're due, then surface automatically in a "today" to-do list. Plus a reusable shopping list and a spot for home facts like where the stopcock is. Ideal for families and housemates.
Both types live at the same kind of link and work the same way to share — choose Simple plan or Home when you create a new document.
Every WhatPlan link looks like /d/abc123#encryptionKey. The part after the # is your encryption key. This fragment is never sent to the server — it stays entirely in your browser. This means:
Only people with the full link can read the document. Our server stores encrypted data it cannot decrypt. If you lose the link, the content becomes permanently unreadable — even to us.
WhatPlan doesn't require sign-ups, logins, or app downloads. It works in any modern browser. Just open, plan, and share.
